FREE PARKING FOR SCOOTERS

The City of Vancouver is currently considering a motion to create free parking for scooter and motorcycles. A motion was recently submitted by a City Councillor to designate free parking spots for motorcycles and scooters. This would create free spots in all six-metre spaces between crosswalks and car parking spots after intersections. It would be great for scooters and it wouldn't displace spots for cars. It’s a win-win situation!

The City of Vancouver is well behind the times. For example:

San Francisco - provides on-street paid and free parking throughout the city.
Toronto - provides free parking in regular on-street space
Portland - has legalized parking in alleys as long as the motorcycle or scooter doesn't obstruct traffic.

WE NEED YOUR HELP MAKE FREE SCOOTER PARKING HAPPEN IN VANCOUVER. WE MUST SHOW COUNCIL THAT THIS MOTION IS WIDELY SUPPORTED BY SCOOTER RIDERS.

THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY AND TIME IS SHORT. TO DATE, THE RESPONSE HAS BEEN LOW. THE SCOOTER COMMUNITY NEEDS TO STEP UP!
